Account & data

Manifest, your Profile, and where things live

There's no login in Inkling, so 'account' means something simpler here: who you've met with, who you are, which calendars are connected, and where your files sit on disk.

What is Manifest?

Manifest is the People icon at the bottom of the sidebar, a curated directory of everyone you've met with. It's a table of name, role, company, meeting count, and last-met date, with a search box and a People / Companies switch. Click a person to open their page: edit their role, team, relationship, or notes inline, see every meeting they're in, or delete them. Click a company to see its people and its meetings.

How do I merge duplicate people in Manifest?

If the same person shows up more than once (usually because they emailed from two different addresses), Manifest shows a banner offering to consolidate. Click it to open a popup listing every duplicate group, with a Merge all button at the top for clearing the whole list at once, or per-group merge buttons if you'd rather review them one at a time. Save or cancel at the bottom. Nothing merges automatically or silently. You always confirm before two profiles combine.

How do I delete a person from Manifest?

Open their page and click Delete. Inkling asks you to confirm first. Deleting a person unbinds them from any transcript speaker labels they were matched to, but leaves the meetings themselves in place. You're removing the person record, not your meeting history.

How do I set up my Profile?

Click the workspace area at the bottom-left of the sidebar, then Profile. From there you can click your avatar to set a photo, edit your display name, and see every calendar you've connected. There's also a delete-profile option, which clears your name and photo only. It says so before you confirm, and it doesn't touch your meetings.

How do I add another calendar?

Calendars are managed on your Profile page (click the workspace area at the bottom-left of the sidebar, then Calendars). That page shows every calendar your Mac already knows about, but the accounts themselves aren't added there. To add a new one (a second Google or Outlook account, for example), open System Settings, then Internet Accounts, and add it there. Apple Calendar picks it up, and Inkling follows whatever Apple Calendar sees.

How do I set colors for my calendars?

Go to Settings → Calendar. Each connected calendar has a color dot and a chevron. Click it to pick from eight named brand colors, or leave it on Automatic to use whatever color that calendar already has. Home's meeting rows update immediately to match. The same screen has a toggle to hide events where you are the only person on the invite, so solo blocks stay out of Up next and never prompt a recording.

Where does Inkling save my recordings?

Storage lives in one place: Settings → General → Storage. One card shows where everything sits, and changing the folder there is the only move you ever make. Pick a new location, and Inkling asks whether to move your existing files too; say yes and it shows you the count and moves them.

How do I get back something I deleted?

Deleted meetings and notes go to Settings → Trash, not straight to permanent deletion. They're removed automatically after 30 days, and you can also empty Trash yourself at any time if you're sure you're done with everything in it.
