Getting started

Finding your way around Inkling

There's no dashboard to configure and nothing to sign up for. Install it, open it, and meetings start showing up. This page covers where things land and how to find them again.

How do I get started with Inkling?

Install the app and open it. The first-run screens walk you through the two AI model downloads and the two permissions Inkling needs. That part is covered step by step in How to install Inkling. Once setup is done, you land on Home, and there is nothing else to configure before your first recording.

What am I looking at on the Home feed?

Home is a single feed, sorted by date, of everything you've made: past meetings with their transcripts and notes, and any notes you've written yourself in the Notes notepad. It's the one place that mixes both, so you don't have to remember which area a given meeting or note lives in.

What's the Up next calendar?

Up next sits above the feed and shows what's ahead, pulled from every calendar your Mac is connected to: a card view for one day, or a proper time-grid week view, with a Today button to jump back when you've paged away. Each event carries its calendar's color, so a glance tells you whether it's work, personal, or another calendar entirely: set those colors in Settings → Calendar.
